Today’s post is a bit of a departure from our usual content and strays dangerously close to, "mommy blogger" territory! Indulge this non-binary cat parent for a moment and come on this ride with me through the land of cloffets!
Is it an office within a closet or a closet within an office? If you spent any time on Pinterest in 2019, you may have stumbled upon an adorable photo of a closet that was renovated to look like an office. This is a very popular trend I saw popping up a lot around that time, and boy did I ever have office envy. I am far from Pinterest's target audience, but there is something so kitschy cute about those adorable little mommy blogger offices tucked away into spare bedrooms. Hailed as a refuge from small humans bent on destroying everything, they touch the closet office, which seems like a perfectly adorable solution to a fairly mundane problem. However, I have discovered that not only is the cloffice charming it is also incredibly practical when you need lots of floor space for filming yoga videos!
This month we are kicking off our new exclusive membership, and to do so, I needed space to film and curate content. I contemplated renting a space outside of my home, but with cases rising in our neck of the woods, I decided to stick close to home. Browsing through a Pinterest board on space saving, I found another photo of a closet housed inside an office, and I realized I had found the solution to my problem!
It took some time and a lot of nails, swearing and wood, but I, with the help of my partner, got it done, and I couldn’t be happier! Cute? Check. Functional? Double check! Ridiculous? A little, yea but it’s practical for my purposes, so I’m happy with the result! Remember, this is a space for functionality, so if you’re looking for cute before and after photos or a perfectly curated space, move along and stick to Pinterest.
I’m off to film our next video, so enjoy these before, during, and after photos!
