A helpful guide to asana THAT WILL help you kick-start your yoga goals
I remember my first exposure to yoga in my early twenties. A friend at the time was learning Bikram Yoga, and due to her competitive nature, she quickly soured me on yoga entirely. It also didn’t help that Bikram, the founder of Bikram Yoga, later rebranded as “Hot Yoga,” was a sexual predator.
Fast forward to my late twenties, I started to yearn for a way to stretch my body and expand my mind. I searched online through different yoga resources, but I was left wanting. I was looking for something gentle to compliment the heavy weight lifting I did then. I was also not ready to enter a yoga class, so I eventually cobbled together several resources and created a little practice for myself. I finally got more comfortable with being in a class setting and found a place I enjoyed attending regular classes.
With that in mind, I created a mini practice guide filled with gentle asana to help others kick-start their yoga journey.
Hopefully, this guide will give you the boost you need to feel confident in your practice. This guide could also complement a rigorous yang practice for the seasoned yogi.
If you get something out of this guide or know someone who might benefit from this kind of gentle movement, share it! You never know who might need a little gentle movement in their life.
