Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement experience with no choreography and no steps to learn. Guided by an intentional playlist, you’ll have space to explore movement in whatever way feels good to you. You can dance big, dance small, lie on the floor, move slowly, get weird, or simply listen and let the music move through you.

A note on origins & cultural appreciation

Ecstatic Dance, as it is practiced today, is a modern movement practice influenced by many different traditions, including trance, ritual, and communal dance practices from cultures around the world. At Savage Yoga, we acknowledge that these traditions have their own histories, meanings, and cultural contexts that deserve respect. Our events are not intended to replicate or claim ownership of sacred cultural practices. Instead, we approach ecstatic dance as a contemporary, inclusive movement space grounded in curiosity, respect, consent, and appreciation.

Please note: This is an 18+ zero-tolerance and dry event. No drugs or alchohol will be permitted on site. Intoxicated individuals will be turned away at the door without a refund, no exceptions. Individuals who look under the age of 18 will be carded at the door. This is an inclusive event open to all adults, and harassment, racism, or bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated.
